John The Baptist

It's Halloween! What could be more appropriate than a synth of a skull? A synth of a skull with an amazing point cloud!

nakagawa

There was an earlier version of this synth I saw with only a fraction of the photos used; I for one am glad for this new expanded map. I love that they are high rez enough to zoom in to a house, and I am a sucker for b&w. Great experience here.

Twitter usage

200 screen shots of Twitter??! Why would you do that? Also, why would you then synth them? I don't know either, but heck, it's interesting.

GIANT BABY CHATSWORTH HOUSE

File this under totally bizarre. The title of the synth describes it better than a mere mortal such as myself. Enjoy.

Rotary Pavilion - Sunken Gardens Lincoln NE

This synther/photographer has a great eye for detail. The overall scene is shot with an eye towards small bits that might be missed in a single still photo.

Hyperion 4

Not sure if this is the moon Hyperion, or some hitherto unknown (to me) celestial body. For that matter, how'd they get these images? Doesn't matter I suppose, as this synth is great at satisfying the inner astronomy nerd in all of us...or at least me :-)

Berkersheim

Serene and simple, this synth is compelling in a fashion reminiscent of Harry Callahan. Absolutely delightful.

Sergio e Navah

This is possibly the best synth I've ever seen. The majesty, the whimsy, the...totally unnecessary-ness! Great to see this sort of thing (whatever that may be)

Freerunning Rock Garden

Don't let the 50% synthiness fool you; this set of images is chock full of Photosynth goodness in different clumps. I love the capturing of temporal locations and movement, not to mention Freerunning. Very fun!

Interesting shots done with some crazy IR tech. Interesting from a "wth is going on here" perspective...which is almost always my perspective...

halliste kirik

I'm a sucker for leaves, and colors (and shiny things, but that's neither here nor there). This synth does a lot with a little and it comes out in stunning fashion.

mugshot gun

Interesting artifact and example of Photosynth art. Not entirely certain as to the message, but it is interesting that this sort of thing is being imagined and created.

Toaster, Take 2

Fantastic use of tags and overlayed text in this synth. Adds frivolity (as if a synth of a toaster needed more) and feels much more interactive. You know, I've always wanted a toaster that would talk back to me...

Mid Ohio Track Day

Pretty crazy that of these images synthed together around...whatever it synthed around. The point cloud is pretty whacky, but this synth is a lot of fun.

What is in the apple ? / SYNTHOMAGIC

Awesome way to use the predilections of the synther to your advantage. Hit 'p' to look at the point cloud and see the magic!

My Skydive

I cackled in glee when I saw this synth. Fantastic way to capture a unique experience. I've got to say, I've not seen a skydiving synth before this one.

Graffiti @ St germain

There's often a question of how one documents street art. It exists as a hybrid of installation and 2d art forms; not permanent, yet art all the same. Traditionally graffiti is captured either on video, or photograph; each medium with its own strengths and limitations. Photosynth truly captures this art and the space it resides in nearly as well as seeing it in person.

Hitomi Ueda

I am very impressed by this synth! That a person synths this well is always interesting to me, especially with such little 'texture' for the synther to grab on to. The point cloud around one of the eyes is particularly dense, it's good to see synths of people being done well.

El Sueñop

Stunning. Here is a great use of the Photosynth technology; anyone can view art in detail, but Photosynth can give an excellent guided tour of a piece. I might never have noticed the delightful little crab otherwise. Further, shooting different angles of a an essentially 2d object gives a great deal more perspective than one might get were it a static image. It also bears noting that this artwork is phenomenal.

Shrine

I rarely see synths of 1100+ photographs, and even more infrequently do they synth together this well. The whole scene is fascinating, not only as it appears, but also the detail in which it was captured. The point cloud is particularly overwhelming (in a good way!) and is indicative of the explorability of this synth.

Missa Padre Roberto- Toca de Assis

Holy Post-Structuralism Batman! Lots of thought provoking things going on here: First, it's an individual capturing (in "film" and synth) a scene being captured on camera. Also, the scene itself is an interesting mix of the old (church motif) and the new (technology; cameras, microphones etc).

Glowing teardrop

Pretty colors and shiny things go a long way towards drawing my interest. Synth it all together and you've got me for the maximum my admittedly short attention span will allow. Also note some of the weird transforms going on here.

Vienna Prater Wiener Wurstlprater

Though this synth may be limited in scope; it is of a small scene and only contains 24 images, it still manages to be a delight. The area, complete with Ferris wheel, is interesting and entirely well shot. I am also glad to see geo-tagging going on here, though it appears to be somewhat off...

nyc fireworks 2

I love that the ship is used for framing (to a nice effect) and for synthing. In the end we are left with an interesting way to view explosions...I'm in to that.

Micrographs of powder coating material

The application of technologies (both photosynth and micrograph), creates a sweet "chocolate + peanut butter" moment here. Very interesting to explore this synth, and the transitions are...sometimes unexpected.

Fract3

Some fractal love here. Who doesn't love algorithmic generations of mathematical beauty? I'd love to see a render with even more detail, though I wonder why the synther didn't put all of these shots together, seems like it should have worked...
